    What is Regulator?

What is Regulator? How does it work? Voltage Regulator
Today, there are many devices used to use energy more efficiently. One of them is regulators (voltage regulator). As the name suggests, the regulator is derived from regulation.

What is Regulator: They are electrical devices used to balance fluctuating electrical voltage. There are sometimes imbalances in the mains voltage (voltage), such as rising and falling. These imbalances cause yield loss. Devices used to prevent these undesirable and unusual imbalances are called regulators.

    Regulator Structure
Regulators can be simple or complex, depending on the type of regulation and the areas in which they are used. A regulator basically consists of a finder element, an emitter and a servo motor.

finder element; measures changes in adjusted magnitude.
publishing body; The adjuster regulates the changes of the magnitude, the difference between the adjusted size and the values ??to be kept constant for this size.
Servo-motor; The adjuster applies the force necessary to effect the changes of magnitude specified by the emitter.

    How Does the Regulator Work?

In the operating system of the regulator, it is connected in series to the transformer and sensitive variac systems. These devices, which are boosters, adjust the voltage balancing in the best way. Regulators basically consist of a finder element, a servo motor and an emitter. Types are also complex or simple.

When short-circuited by the load, the regulators allow to regulate the large currents that occur. Simple series regulators cannot respond to these changes immediately. But regulators with complex structures respond to changes. Shunt-sensing series regulators respond instantly to small changes.

The safety elements that protect the regulator are completely separate from the regulator. Generally, the regulator is activated when it is unable to work. They stop the machine and the system. When current is drawn from all energy sources, even the battery, the voltage drops. A voltage regulator is used in all devices to keep the voltage within certain limits. (voltage regulator or voltage booster)

There are transformers and variacs in regulators. It transfers the alternating current from the mains to the transformer first and then to the variac with the electronic servo circuit. (high power and amp trimpot). The motor and motor ends connected to this variac are connected to the servo circuit, and the servo circuit is connected to a transformer from which it receives power.

    Voltage Regulator
It is the device used to regulate voltage fluctuations in the supply line. It produces a constant output voltage that remains constant for any voltage change in input voltage or load conditions. It acts as a buffer to protect components from damage. The voltage regulator is a device with a simple feed forward design and uses negative feedback control loops.

    Where is the Regulator Used?
Uninterrupted power supply, card access systems,
Medical and laboratory equipment, dental equipment
    Telecommunications equipment, photo printing machines,
CNC machines, injection machines, woodworking machines,
Photocopier, fax, computer system, radio and television transmitters
Design machinery, textile machinery, automation equipment,
Especially in communication tools such as printing machines
Marine equipment, in workshops and workshops, elevators,
In addition, regulators are used in the network to switch the voltage back and forth in home and office lighting systems. Many machines can be damaged if the regulator is not used.

    How is the Regulator Connected?
In 1-phase static regulators, the input-output connection of the device should be made according to the connection diagram given on the device. 1 phase + Neutral cable to be taken from the electrical panel is connected to the terminal group on the back panel of the device, respectively.

In 3-phase static regulators, the input-output connection of the device should be made according to the connection diagram given on the device. 3 phase + Neutral cable is taken from the electrical panel. It is connected to the terminal group on the back panel of the device as L1-L2-L3 and N respectively from the left. Neutral and phase connection of the load to be fed is made respectively.

Important Note: The covers of the regulator should never be opened. No objects should get into the ventilation holes and these holes should not be blocked. The regulator should not be used in environments with explosive and flammable materials. The place where the device will be placed should not receive direct sunlight. In addition, it should not be close to a heat source, and an air gap of at least 20 cm should be left behind the regulator.

The regulator operates in the indoor temperature range between -10 °C and +40 °C. In regions with +40 °C and above, it is necessary to cool the environment with air conditioning. Or it is necessary to use the regulator below its capacity. The regulator should not be operated in excessively humid, acidic or heavy metal dust environments.

    Regulator Prices
Servo-controlled regulator prices vary according to each company. There are many regulator brands. Regulator price list is prepared according to power factors and materials used.
